Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with SJEC Alumni Association organized a session on Big Data and Cloud for the sixth semester CSE students on 01 st April 2023 from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The resource person for the session was Mr Dheeraj Madi, Technical Delivery Lead, Shell India (Royal Dutch Shell), Bengaluru. Ms Sunitha Guruprasad, Coordinator of the session and staff of CSE Department, welcomed the resource person and the participants. Ms Jessica Feandes, student of sixth semester, introduced the resource person, Mr Dheeraj Madi to the audience. Ms Sunitha G, florally welcomed the resource person. A total of 178 students were present and benefited from the session. Students were given information about Big Data, how and where the huge data is collected and used in real world. He also gave information about the variety of projects that are carried out in the companies using this data. He gave an introduction to Cloud and the way the data is stored in the cloud. A brief idea about the various projects that the students can carry out as a part of their final year project was given. He told the students to upgrade themselves with new skills which will be of great help to them in future. The session ended by thanking the resource person for conducting a wonderful session. Mr Jithin Johny, student of sixth semester presented a vote of thanks and gave feedback about the session. Dr Sofia Rego, staff of the CSE department, felicitated the resource person with a memento. Students participated enthusiastically for the whole duration of the session.
