Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Department of Electronics Communication Engineering in association with SJEC MATLAB, CoreEL Technologies organized a Faculty Development Programme on "Applications of Communication and Artificial Intelligence using MATLAB” from 16th to 17th March 2023 in DSP Lab, AB1. This programme was organized by Dr Sheryl Grace Colaco- EEE department and Ms Nandini Maninarayana- ECE department. The resource person for this FDP is Mr Rakshith B S, Senior Application Engineer-UPT, Technology Solutions Division, CoreEL Technologies- Bengauru.

Day 1 (9:30am-1:00 pm) : The session began with an Inauguration by HOD-ECE followed by the technical sessions from Mr Rakshith BS, CoreEL Technologies. The resource person gave an initial introduction to various Simulink block sets of the Communication tool box and later provided hands-on training with an example to create modulator and demodulator blocks.

Day 1 (2:00pm-4:30 pm) : In the afteoon session, the resource person introduced the participants to MATLAB Grader and its usefulness in teaching and evaluating MATLAB codes of various engineering concepts. He also demonstrated a few video tutorials that guide the participants in using MATLAB Grader for academic teaching and leaing purposes.

Day2 (9:30am-1:00 pm) : The resource person discussed the Machine leaing toolbox with the GUI interface with apps. He later on provided hands-on sessions with supervised leaing, unsupervised leaing and LSTM with examples.

Day 2 (2:00pm-4:30 pm) : In the afteoon session, the resource person discussed deep leaing techniques for image acquisition and prediction. He also taught deep leaing layer interface with apps. The sessions ended with a note on MATLAB's innovative project demonstrations and competitions for academic excellence.
