Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in association with SJEC AICTE IDEA LAB organized a three days Skill Development Program on "Rapid Prototyping Techniques” from 02 to 04 November 2023 for the students of diploma colleges of Mangalore region. About 69 students from KPT, Mangaluru registered for the workshop and actively participated. The program was coordinated by Ms Madhavi Gatty and Mr Joysun DSouza- Assistant Professors, EEE department.
The first session of the workshop was focused on training the participants on the working of different machines and use of Software like SOLID WORKS, TINKERCAD, ART CAM, CREALITY ENDER SLICER, LIGHT BURN etc. which is primarily used to create the design of the model or product to be developed. Students were later divided into three groups of 10 students each and hands-on training was given on 3D printers, 3D scanner, Laser cutting machines, and CNC wood router machines respectively. Dr. Ravikantha Prabhu and Dr Vijay V S conducted different sessions as resource persons for the workshop. Mr. Deekshith, Mr. Harshith, Ms. Chaithra K, and Mr Praveen Dsouza demonstrated the working of different machines and guided the participants as Tech Gurus.
