A three-day work shop on Electrical switchgear and protection was organised from 09 to 11 February 2023 in Basic Electrical Lab for interested students of second year and final year EEE Branch. This program was organised by Mr Deepesh S Kanchan and Mr Franco Menezes, Asst Professors, EEE Dept. The resource personnel for this hands on work shop were Mr Shivananda, MD, DBsons Pvt Ltd, Tumkur, Mr.Basavesh, HR Manager and Ms.Rajeshwari, Trainer, DBsons Pvt Ltd, Tumkur. The resource team provided in sights in to the world of Electrical Switchgear, Importance and Applications. They provided Industry based knowledge on contactors, push buttons, NOs, NCs, Timers, Indicators and Circuit breakers. Students were divided in to groups of 5 members. Each group worked on Modules related to ACB, Timer, Indictor, OLR, Motor controllers, VFD, APFC and PLCs. Students attained skills on automatic and manual star delta starters, DOL starters, Slip ring resistance controllers and many such protective schemes. Students interacted with the trainers on a regular basis and found all the sessions interesting and knowledgeable.
