ECE: A Peer Learning Session on AI & ML

 

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering, PRODIGI-Student Association organized the Peer Leaing session on AI & M to the students of 2 nd year ECE on April 12, 2022.

The session was arranged in the Fr. Fred Hall. The event started with the silent prayer.  The chief guest of the program was Dr. Dayakshini , HOD, Department of ECE, The Prodigi coordinator Dr. Sandhya Dass was present. Ms. Sharol(3 rd year B) cordially welcomed and started the session. In the beginning of the program Dr. Dayakshini , HOD, Department of ECE, delivered a small talk on the session addressing the students.  Then the session was handed over to the speakers of the event. The speakers were Ms. Swathi Rai M, Ms. Priyanka Divakar Naik, Mr. Dillan Rainer Pereira and Mr. Lanwin D'Souza, students from 2 nd year ECE.

The session started by Ms. Swathi Rai M who delivered the introduction to the importance and the future scope of AI and ML in today's world. This was followed by the importance of mathematics for AI, ML, DS and beyond by Ms. Priyanka Divakar Naik. The session was then continued by Mr. Dillan Rainer Pereira and Mr. Lanwin D'Souza. The topics discussed were:

· Technologies & Terminologies: AI vs ML vs DL vs DS

· Applications of ML

· Characteristics of Big Data

· Challenges in Data Handling

· Data Science and Data Analytics

· Mathematics for AI-ML-DS and Beyond

The speakers briefed on topics of new ideas, new technologies (AI-ML-DS) and their evolutions. A detailed explanation was given on the differences and the different applications of these technologies. Every session was very informative and caught the attention of the audience.

Lastly, the discussion ended by a brief Q&A session and the students' feedback was collected on the session conducted. The topics were presented in a well-organized manner and very much relevant to the interest of the students. Overall, it was very useful session and good feedback was received from the audience. Finally, the event concluded with the valedictory program.
