The Toastmasters Club of St Joseph Engineering College in association with PRODIGI- Student's Association of ECE Department conducted a session and provided an insight about Toastmasters Inteational on Tuesday 24 th May 2022 in Fr Fred Memorial for second year students of ECE. The resource person of the talk was DTM Beena Shetty of Toastmaster Mangaluru.
Toastmasters provide a supportive and positive leaing experience in which members are empowered to develop communication and leadership skills, resulting in greater self-confidence and personal growth. The session included an opening about what Toastmasters is and how it is beneficial for people to improve their communication and leadership skills and network to improve their net worth. This was followed by a session on the roles involved during a Toastmasters session, following which a small Table Topics session (impromptu speaking) was conducted wherein the students enthusiastically participated.
The session that lasted for an hour was conducted by DTM Beena Shetty, TM Daryl Rodricks and TM Meera Rao.
Finally, the discussion ended by a brief Q&A. The students were motivated to bring the best out of themselves, so they can present the best of you themselves to the world. Through practice of both impromptu speaking and prepared speeches, they lea to become more comfortable with being uncomfortable. Overall, it was a very useful session for the students, as they are going to begin their jouey of leaing. Very good feedback was received from the audience.
