The Department of ECE in collaboration with Equidor MedTech Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru organized a technical talk for the II year ECE students on June 28, 2024 from 11 AM to 1 PM in Prerana Hall. The Resource Person for the Session is Mr Ajith S Rao, Chief Technical officer, Equidor MedTech Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru. The objective of the workshop is to
Comprehend the basic principles and concepts in computer vision and explore modern Computer Vision Techniques.
Provide Hands-on sessions on Balance-Eye Equipment and familiarize its application.
Sir gave insights on New-age computer vision represents a significant leap in how machines interpret and understand visual data, driven primarily by advancements in deep learning techniques. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) have revolutionized image classification, object detection, and segmentation by allowing systems to automatically learn and recognize hierarchical features from visual inputs. Recent innovations such as Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) and Vision Transformers (ViTs) further enhance these capabilities, enabling the generation of realistic images and improving performance across various vision tasks. These technologies are complemented by real-time processing through edge computing and specialized hardware, making computer vision systems faster and more efficient.
He also explained about the applications of new-age computer vision that are vast and transformative, impacting fields like healthcare, where it aids in medical imaging analysis, and autonomous vehicles, where it enables self-driving cars to navigate complex environments. Additionally, it plays a critical role in retail and security, offering solutions for automated checkout and advanced surveillance. However, the rapid evolution of this field also raises important ethical and social considerations, such as addressing biases in AI systems and safeguarding privacy. As research continues, the focus will increasingly be on enhancing model accuracy, integrating multimodal inputs, and ensuring responsible and equitable use of computer vision technologies.
Balance eye detector equipment leverages advanced computer vision technology to monitor and analyze eye movements, gaze direction, and ocular health. This equipment is used in various applications, including automotive safety systems, where it helps prevent accidents by detecting driver fatigue and distraction. In healthcare, it assists in diagnosing and managing neurological disorders by providing detailed insights into eye movement patterns. Additionally, balance eye detectors are valuable in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems, enhancing user experience through accurate gaze tracking and interaction. Research projects utilizing this technology might focus on developing improved fatigue detection algorithms, integrating eye-tracking with VR for more immersive experiences, or creating diagnostic tools for early detection of vision-related health issues.
He also demonstrated the working of the balance eye detector equipment and encouraged the students to develop projects on the same. Mr Vineeth B, II year ECE student compered the programme and concluded the session with vote of thanks
