The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering inaugurated the activities of the Prodigi Association and Samarthya Club for the academic year 2025-26 on September 27, 2025, at the Kalam Auditorium. The event, held in the presence of Dr Pruthviraj Umesh, Associate Professor, NITK, Suratkal, commenced at 11:00 AM. Dr Dayakshini, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. Mr Adithya and Ms Prisha Kamalaksha Ail presented a brief report on the activities conducted during 2024-25. The new office bearers for the year 2025-26 were installed, and meritorious students were felicitated by the chief guest. Ms Ranjitha Shetty and Ms Lisha D S, Presidents of the respective associations, outlined the activities planned for the current academic year.
Following the inauguration, Dr Pruthviraj Umesh delivered a technical talk emphasizing the role of interdisciplinary research in creating innovative, real-world solutions. He illustrated how ideas can evolve into impactful, open-source projects and shared several student-led initiatives at NITK related to Water Resource Management. The talk inspired students to explore practical applications of their knowledge and align their academic goals with industry demands. The event was successfully coordinated by Ms Florence Nishmitha, Ms Vinitha Pasanha, Dr Aldrin Claytus Vaz, and Ms Madhavi Gatty, Assistant Professors in the Department of ECE.
