A session on "Corporate Expectations and Placement Preparedness” for MBA students

A session on "Corporate Expectations and Placement Preparedness" was organized by the Department of Business Administration in association with Department of Training and Placement, St Joseph Engineering College [SJEC] for MBA students at SJEC on 21st August 2024. The event was aimed at bridging the gap between academic knowledge and corporate expectations, thereby enhancing the students' employability. Prof. Sathyendra Bhat, Head, Training, Placement, and Collaborations, SJEC was the resource person. Prof. Bhat provided a comprehensive overview of the expectations that corporate recruiters have from MBA graduates. He emphasized the importance of soft skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability. The resource person offered practical tips on how students can improve their placement prospects. This included resume building, interview preparation, and networking strategies. Prof. Bhat also discussed the latest trends in the job market and highlighted the emerging opportunities for MBA graduates.

The resource person also provided an overview of the placement policy at St Joseph Engineering College.The session was followed by a lively Q&A session where students had the opportunity to clarify their doubts and seek advice from the expert. 

Dr. Prakash Pinto, Professor and Dean, Department of Business Administration, introduced and welcomed Prof. Sathyendra Bhat. Mr. Roopesh, Chairperson, Placement and Training Group and Assistant Professor of MBA, expressed words of gratitude for the resource person's valuable insights.The session on "Corporate Expectations and Placement Preparedness" proved to be highly beneficial for the MBA students at SJEC. By understanding the expectations of corporate recruiters and acquiring the necessary skills, the students would be better equipped to succeed in their career endeavors.
