The Department of Business Administration, St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, successfully organized “INGENIOUS 2026”, a Business Plan Contest, open to all MBA, MCA, and BE students of SJEC, on 15th May 2026 in Spoorthi Hall from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The event was conducted with the objective of encouraging creativity, innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic thinking among students. The competition provided a platform for students to present innovative business ideas and showcase their entrepreneurial and managerial abilities.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic response from students across various departments. A total of 22 teams registered for the competition, out of which 17 teams successfully submitted their business plans. After a detailed evaluation process, 9 teams were shortlisted as finalists for the final presentation round.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the Master of Ceremony, Ms. Palvi Fernandes, who highlighted the significance of entrepreneurship and innovation in today’s competitive world. The introduction of the judges was delivered by Ms. Velika Furtado.

The finalists presented their innovative business ideas before the judges, followed by an interactive question-and-answer session. The judges appreciated the creativity, feasibility, and presentation skills demonstrated by the participants and also shared valuable feedback and suggestions.
After careful evaluation, the winners of INGENIOUS 2026 were announced as follows:
· First Place – Green Minders - Jaden Lenard and Prapthi Shetty, IV Semester, CSE
· Second Place – Grevo/Solex - Abhinav R Bolar and Aaron Dsouza, II Semester, CSE
The winners were awarded cash prizes and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance and innovative business concepts.

The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms. Smruthi Shetty, who expressed gratitude to the management, judges, faculty members, participants, coordinators, and volunteers for contributing to the grand success of the event.
INGENIOUS 2026 was a remarkable learning experience for all participants and served as an excellent platform for nurturing entrepreneurial talent and innovative thinking among students.
