The Department of Business Administration at St Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru, organized a peer-to-peer cyber awareness program titled ‘Secure Together’ on Monday, 14th July 2025. The session, conducted exclusively for MBA students from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Spoorthi Hall, AB III, was a collaborative effort by Finnovate(Finance), MarketSense(Marketing) and EmpowerNet(HR) powered by Genesis – the student forums of the department. The primary objective of this program was to sensitize students to the growing importance of cybersecurity in the digital age and equip them with essential knowledge on how to stay safe online. The event featured Mr Johnson Joy, a first-year MBA student of SJEC, as the speaker, who delivered an engaging and insightful session on various facets of cyber safety. Topics covered included phishing scams, password protection, data privacy, cyber laws, and responsible social media practices. The event was smoothly coordinated by faculty members Mr Nelson Marwin Fernandes, Mr Cherian Xavier, Mr Thilak Gowda, and Ms Prajwala Preema Rodrigues, whose guidance contributed significantly to the success of the program. Special appreciation is extended to Dr Prakash Pinto, Professor and Dean MBA, for his continuous encouragement, visionary leadership, and unwavering support in nurturing student-led initiatives that go beyond classroom learning. Overall, ‘Secure Together’ was a commendable initiative that successfully raised cyber awareness and encouraged students to adopt responsible digital behavior.
