Ways of effective wealth creation: A mutual fund awareness program

The Department of Business Administration organised a Mutual Fund Awareness Program for MBA students on 9 June 2025 to enhance financial literacy and promoting informed investment decisions among future managers. The session was conducted by Mr. Arjun Prakash, a SEBI Certified Professional, who brought his rich industry experience and insights into the domain of mutual fund investments.
The program began with a warm welcome and introduction of the guest speaker by Ms. Prathiksha R, I MBA who highlighted Mr. Prakash’s professional achievements and his contribution to investor education.
Mr. Arjun Prakash delivered an engaging and informative talk on the various facets of mutual funds, including types of mutual funds, risk-return trade-offs, Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), NAV calculation, taxation aspects, and the role of SEBI in regulating the mutual fund industry. He also emphasized the importance of starting investments early and aligning them with personal financial goals. The session was highly interactive, with students posing several
thoughtful questions on different aspects of mutual fund.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Rhea Dsouza I MBA, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Arjun Prakash for his valuable time and insights, and also thanked the faculty and students for their active participation. The Faculty Coordinator Dr Shakila B and MBA faculty members were present for the session.
