The Department of Computer Applications organized a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “AI Tools in Education” on 28th May 2025 for the teachers of Holy Redeemer English Medium School and other schools of Belthangady. The program aimed to equip educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into their teaching practices, thereby enhancing classroom engagement and learning outcomes.
The session began with a welcome address by Dr Hareesh B, Head, Department of Computer Applications, who highlighted the growing importance of AI in the field of education and its potential to transform traditional teaching methods.
The workshop witnessed the active participation of around 60 teachers from various schools in Belthangady. Eminent resource persons conducted engaging sessions that covered the fundamentals of AI, its classroom applications, and hands-on demonstrations of AI-based tools useful for educators. Participants gained practical insights into using AI for lesson planning, assessment, and student interaction.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Sunith Kumar T, Convenor of the FDP, who expressed gratitude to the management, resource persons, and participants for their valuable contribution to the success of the event.
The one-day FDP proved to be a highly informative and interactive platform, fostering awareness and confidence among teachers to adopt AI tools in their day-to-day teaching activities.
