The Department of Computer Applications, SJEC had organized a 3 Days Orientation Program for 2024-26 Batch of MCA from 2nd to 5th December 2024. The main objective of the orientation was to assist the students in developing an understanding of the department, and its teaching-learning processes, and to familiarize them with facilities available on the campus. Distinguished resource persons from the college and industry participated in this program to enlighten the vision and mission of the department.
The Orientation Program began with a welcome from HOD-MCA, Dr Hareesha B by introducing the Department of MCA to the new batch of students. Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC delivered a lecture on Professional Approach to Life.
Dr Sudheer M, Professor & Dean-Academics provided details about Academic Regulations and MCA Curriculum Structure. Dr Ramananda H S Professor & Dean SW, Ms Preetha Aroza, Campus Counsellor conducted sessions on Mentoring, counselling, Discipline and Jagruthi. Dr Rohan Pinto delivered information on Examination Policies & Procedures. Dr Purushothama Chippar Vice-Principal, insights on Entrepreneurship & IPR.
Ms Sumangala N & Mr Sunith Kumar T Explored details about MCA @ SJEC. Mr Sathyendra Bhat J, Head-Placement & Training conducted a session on Placement Preparedness at SJEC. Mr Glenson Toney, Assistant Prof-ECE Training Coordinator, delivered a lecture on Placement Training Essentials. Ms Vaneesha V Rodrigues Physical Education Director, detailed about Sports Facilities. Dr Felcy D’Souza, Librarian gave insights on Central Library Information, Resources, Facilities, and Services.
Mr Shripad Hebbar, Principal, Technology Mentor, CodeCraft Technologies,Mangalore conducted a session on Industry Expectation and Professionalism. Mr Lanwin D Lobo, Director at Mresult, Mangalore spoke about AI in industry. Ms Chandrani Sarkar, HR-Head at Unicourt, Mangalore gave insights about Personality and soft skills which are required in industry.
The students exhibited active participation and expressed their contentment over the orientation program.
