IdeaSphere: Ideation Camp 2023 held at SJEC

 

InnoVenture: SJEC Innovation Platform at St Joseph Engineering College - Mangaluru, in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering and SJEC AICTE IDEA  Lab conducted an Ideation Camp from 13 - 15 July 2023. The ideation camp was organized for a multidisciplinary batch of 84 students. Dr Nitin Kulkai, Former Director of CTIE - KLE Tech Hubli and currently, the Program Manager of InnoVenture and an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Business Department at SJEC, was the key facilitator for the Camp. Dr Kulkai was supported by a team of Faculty from SJEC as Co-Facilitators and Mentors.

The Ideation Camp focussed on Four Verticals: 1) Healthcare 2) Increasing the income of Small Scale Farmers 3) Cybersecurity for Women and Children in India and 4) Solid Waste Management. Students worked in teams of five for 2.5 Days as Dr Kulkai and Team led them through a proven template based approach of Ideation. Dr Madhukar S M., CEO of Innaumation Medical Devices Pvt. Ltd., Mr Pradeep Raj, Operations Manager at CEOL Incubation Center - Mangalore, and Mr Jishnu Mulachan, Technical Director and Co-Founder of Zilliot Technologies Pvt Ltd., were the members of the Jury that assessed the Business Pitch developed by the student teams.

 
16 teams of students developed the following problem statements and ideated solutions leading to a business pitch.
 
  1. How can we create awareness among mode couples about medically appropriate practices free pre,during  and post pregnancy?
  2. How can we facilitate sustainable connection between small scale farmers and consumers to promote organic agriculture and enhance accessibility to fresh produce?
  3. How can we help women and children from or in solving online fraud?
  4. How can we help women and children who are highly prone to identity theft?
  5. How do we analyze the general health of the youth which is sharply worsening over the years ( The risk of health)?
  6. How can we help online transaction users to prevent online fraud?
  7. How can we help the farmers in getting real time access to information on daily crop prices, reliable storage facilities, transport and all the general needs and information needed for easy farming on a daily basis?
  8. How can we help organ recipients receive the organs on time from donors who have registered ?
  9. How can we help victims of accidents that take place in remote areas and how can we provide information to the hospital and police?
  10. How can we reduce people dying due to septic shock during post operative cases?
  11. How can we help farmers with storage facilities to improve the shelf life of the produce?
  12. How can we help the people residing/ commercial complexes who are facing problems because of accumulation of visible and harmful solid waste in water bodies flown through sewage?
  13. How can we help small income farmers get mode equipment at an affordable charge?
  14. How can we help the small scale farmers to interact with experts and understand govement schemes and increase profitability?
  15. How can we help in collection and disposal of Waste in urban areas mainly focusing on apartment and commercial areas?
  16. How can we help householders in urban areas for disposal of wet waste in the most efficient way?
