The Research & Facilities Group and Industry & Innovation Group in association with Sustainable Engineering Club – SJEC, has organized a technical talk on “Energy, Environment & Climate Change”

The Research & Facilities Group and Industry & Innovation Group, in association with the Sustainable Engineering Club – SJEC, has organized a technical talk on “Energy, Environment & Climate Change” on Monday, 11th November, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM for B. E. Mechanical Engineering students and staff at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, SJEC, Mangaluru. Nearly 100 students have attended the talk. The resource person was Dr. Gangadharan Nair, Energy Consultant at Rachana Ener Care, Mysuru. 

Dr. Vijay V S, Assistant Professor (Grade – II), Department of Mechanical Engineering, and co-convenor of the event, welcomed the speaker. Later Dr. Gangadharan Nair took over the session and delivered a talk on Energy, Environment & Climate Change. In his presentation he clearly explained about the exploration of energy sources, extraction, processing, transportation, storage, distribution, supply, and utilization of energy. He clearly brought out the need for a sustainable energy transition by shifting to renewable energy sources, increasing energy efficiency, reducing waste, and supporting sustainable policies. At the end, in the question and answer session, the resource person answered the queries raised by the students. Dr. Raju K, convenor of the program, felicitated the resource person, Dr. Gangadharan Nair, with a memento and congratulated him for his excellent talk on energy, environment, and climate change.

The programme was concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms Tiya Rajesh, 5th Sem student, Department of Mechanical Engineering.
