Department of Electrical & Electronics in association with SANJOSH-SJEC Teaching Leaing Centre & Inteal Quality Assurance cell organised three day FDP on "Awareness on AICTE Examination Reforms” for the faculty of the department. The Objective of the FDP was to give an insight on the Formation of the Competency & Performance Indicators (PIs) in the course plan and also the importance of complex engineering problems in the curriculum followed by the assessment for the same.

Mr Sathisha K, HOD welcomed the gathering & briefed on the FDP. He also welcomed the resource person for the day Dr Sudheer M, Dean Academic Affairs.

Session 1: Introduction to Competency and Performance Indicators - Dr Sudheer M, Dean Academic Affairs

Dr Sudheer M, Dean Academic Affairs explained on how the competency & performance indicators (PIs) can be framed from POs. He also explained on how Course outcomes can be mapped to the PIs for a particular courses.

Session 2: Developing assignments based on Complex Engineering Problems - Dr Shreeranga Bhat, HOD-ME

Dr Shreeranga Bhat, explained how a complex engineering problem of higher levels can be entrusted to students in the form of assignments and mapping the assignments to particular POs.

Session 3: Insights on Course plan- Dr Pavana Kumar B, Head- IQAC

Dr Pavana Kumar B, Head-IQAC explained how a course plan & assessment sheet needs to be prepared as per the new format. He said course outcome once framed by the respective course coordinator needs to be reviewed by the course review committee before finalizing the same.

Session 4: Effective assessment using Blooms Taxonomy- Dr Sudheer M, Dean Academic Affairs

Dr Sudheer M, Dean Academic Affairs said that there needs to be an effective assessment based on the blooms taxonomy. He also said that assessment should be based on the rubrics framed.

Session 5: Reviewing of Competency & Performance Indicators of the Department -Mr Franco Menezes

Competency & Performance Indicators framed was reviewed & changes were made wherever necessary as per the suggestions given by the faculty members. Finally a fair Competency & performance indicators (PIs) was framed.

FDP was compered by Ms Himani Kishan Raj, Assistant Professor-Dept of EEE. FDP was concluded by thanking all the faculty members.
