An outreach programme for students in Government High School, Navoor, Bantwal was organized on 16th November 2019. 21 BE students accompanied by 5 faculties of Department of Physics carried out the outreach programme. Around 78 high school students attended the programme.
Ms Gauri, Teacher, Government High School, Navoor, Bantwal welcomed the staff and the students of our college. Dr Vincent Crasta briefed the students on the purpose of having the outreach programme. Ms Pooja, Mr Hrishikesh and Mr Muhammed Owais presented a ppt on various topics of Physics along with animations and video clips to the students. Later the school students were divided into 8 groups to demonstrate them various experiments. Queries in various topics of Physics were addressed by our students and staff.
To end the programme, a fun game was conducted to all the students and prizes were distributed. Dr Vincent Crasta thanked the Headmistresses of the school for giving us an opportunity to conduct the outreach programme in their schools and also inspired the students to work hard. The headmistress of the school thanked the faculty and the students of our college for educating and inspiring their students.
The outreach programme was a grand success and provided a platform for students to work in groups and be socially responsible. They also understood how they can be helpful to the society being engineers. It was a very good experience for faculty too to understand the needs of the students in rural schools.
