The Office of Collaborations and the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in association with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, organized an Awareness Program on the GATE Examination on 22nd August 2025. The session was attended by third- and final-year engineering students.

The resource persons were Mr Shibam Karmakar (Ph.D. Scholar, Materials Engineering) and Mr Chechani Pranjal Vishnukumar (Ph.D. Scholar, Civil Engineering), from IISc Bengaluru. Mr. Shibam introduced students to the legacy and opportunities at IISc, while Mr. Chechani spoke about the purpose, eligibility, exam pattern, validity, and global recognition of the GATE exam. He also shared preparation strategies and useful resources such as NPTEL courses and past year question papers.

The interactive session provided students with clarity on applying to public universities and motivated them to prepare strategically for their higher education and research careers.

The program was coordinated by Dr Sanath Saralaya, HoD, EEE, Ms Diana Monteiro, Head – Training and Collaborations Officer, and Ms Chaithra Shetty, Assistant Professor, EEE.
