The Office of Collaborations and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, in association with DAAD – German Academic Exchange Service, organized a talk on “Higher Studies in Public Universities and Research Opportunities in Germany” on 13 August 2025 at 12:00 PM in Prerana Hall, SJEC. The session was specifically arranged for third and final-year engineering students.
The resource person for the talk was Ms Suganya Tamalapadi, Regional Officer at DAAD Information Point, Bangalore. Ms Suganya has been associated with DAAD since 2021, guiding students and academicians aspiring to pursue higher education in Germany. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication from India and a Master’s in Microelectronics from the Fachhochschule Darmstadt, Germany. She also has professional experience with reputed organizations such as Texas Instruments, Munich, and General Motors, Rüsselsheim.
During the session, Ms Suganya provided detailed insights into Germany’s public university system, application processes, available scholarships, and research opportunities for Indian students. She also highlighted DAAD’s role in supporting higher education through funding and guidance. Students were encouraged to explore global opportunities and make informed decisions regarding their academic futures.
The interactive session provided students with clarity on applying to Public universities and motivated them to prepare strategically. The talk was coordinated by Dr Ravikanth Prabhu, HOD, Ms Diana Monteiro, Head - Training andCollaborations Officer, and Mr Poornesh M, Assistant Professor, ME and Ms Ramya M, Assistant Professor, ME.
