The Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026–27 for newly admitted First Year B.E. students was organized from 18 August 2026 to 31 August 2026. The 11-day programme was designed to provide students with a meaningful and enriching transition into college life and to help them become familiar with the academic environment, institutional ethos, culture, values, policies and various opportunities available on campus.

The programme was conducted during the morning session from 9.00 a.m. to 12.40 p.m. The afternoon sessions were utilized for practice and preparation for the Talent Quest Inter-Class Competition, which was conducted on 31 August 2026. The practice sessions and attendance were monitored by the respective section coordinators.

The First -Year students were informed about the Student Induction Programme through e-mails circulated by the First-Year Coordinator. The students were divided into eight sections, with each section being guided and monitored by a section coordinator.

The SIP 2026–27 comprised 35 sessions, of which 13 sessions were conducted by external resource persons. The programme commenced on 18 August 2026 with the formal inauguration of the Student Induction Programme followed by campus tour. The initial sessions included ice-breaking, team-building activities, and interactive programmes that enabled students to interact with one another and develop a sense of belonging to the institution. The programme included a wide range of sessions and activities covering academic, professional, personal, social and cultural development.

Students were introduced to various aspects of academic life, including:

  • Library resources and facilities
  • Outcome-Based Education (OBE)
  • Examination reforms and academic regulations
  • Elective subjects
  • Higher education opportunities
  • Placement and career opportunities
  • Virtual learning resources
  • Student welfare and counselling services


These sessions helped students understand the academic expectations of engineering education and the various resources available to support their learning and career development. Sessions on personality development, communication, teamwork, leadership and self-exploration were organized to help students build confidence and develop essential life skills. Students were also sensitized to important areas such as mental well-being, nutrition, drug awareness, discipline and anti-ragging. Information regarding scholarships, financial assistance and student support services was also provided. The programme provided students with an overview of emerging trends and opportunities in Science and Technology. Sessions focused on:

  • Effective use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Industry and innovation
  • Research and innovation
  • Idea Lab
  • Virtual learning
  • Emerging technologies and their applications


These sessions encouraged students to develop curiosity, creativity, innovative thinking and a research-oriented outlook. Students were introduced to several contemporary societal and environmental issues through awareness sessions on Swachh Bharat, organic farming, biogas treatment, cyber security, cyber-crimes and safe investing. These programmes encouraged students to become responsible and informed members of society.
To promote holistic development, students participated in activities related to:

  • Yoga and physical fitness
  • Sports
  • Cultural activities
  • Clubs and associations
  • NCC/NSS activities
  • Talent Quest
  • Team-building and leadership activities


The Talent Quest provided students with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and individual talents while also developing confidence, teamwork and healthy competitive spirit. As part of the Student Induction Programme, students were given opportunities to prepare for and participate in the Talent Quest Inter-Class Competition. The Talent Quest competition was held on 31 August 2026 and provided an appropriate platform for students to exhibit their talents, creativity and stage confidence.

The Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026–27 provided a comprehensive and well-structured platform for newly admitted First Year B.E. students to begin their engineering journey with confidence and enthusiasm.
