Assistant Professor
Teaching is the most rewarding aspect of my professional career. I believe that effective teaching involves a collaborative and synergistic relationship between students and teacher. My primary focus has always been on building strong connections with my students, as I am convinced that young people can make significant changes in the world if equipped with the right information and tools. I aim to help my students achieve their goals by demonstrating the applications of mathematics in engineering fields.
To foster the best learning environment, a teacher must be enthusiastic about the subject matter. She should act as both coach and cheerleader, highlighting the positives in each student's work while providing constructive criticism. Embracing diversity and a wide range of opinions and ideas is crucial, as is establishing classroom standards that promote mutual respect and trust. A teacher must listen and compromise when necessary but also remain firm in her decisions and commitments.
A stagnant teacher is of no benefit to the class. A teacher is not just an educator but a lifelong learner. Therefore, she must continually expand her professional knowledge by taking additional courses, advancing her degree, and attending workshops and conferences. This ongoing professional development ensures that she can provide her students with the most current and relevant information.
