Assistant Professor & Head-Training & Placement
Mr Sathyendra Bhat J holds a master’s degree in Computer Applications. He is currently heading the Department of Training and Placement along with being an Assistant Professor in the MCA Department at St Joseph Engineering College. Having been associated with St Joseph Engineering College for more than a decade, he has been entrusted with various responsibilities at the college level over the years. He plays a key part in Industry Interaction, Entrepreneurship Development, Innovation and Press & Media related activities in the college.
To add to his teaching experience of 14 years, he has industrial experience of 2 years as a Software Developer at Robosoft Technologies Pvt Ltd, Udupi and a Test Lead at Mphasis, an HP Company.
He has obtained his post-graduation in MCA from St Aloysius College, Mangaluru, after completing his BCA from Canara First Grade College, Mangaluru.
His areas of interest include the Application of Lean Six Sigma in Software Development, Mobile Ad-hoc Networks, the Internet of Things, Mobile Application Development and Cloud Computing. In addition to his technical expertise, he is a certified Master Facilitator in Leadership and Human Resource Development.
Mr Sathyendra Bhat is a globally certified engineering educator, an IGIP-certified faculty member and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Engineering Education Transformations (JEET). As an avid researcher, he has over 25 publications in reputed journals and 2 best paper awards to his credit in international conferences. He has 3 patents to his credit alongside the publication of 2 book chapters.
He is a member of IEEE and plays a pivotal role in coordinating the activities of the regional chapter of IEEE. He has also been serving as a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college apart from being a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) and Board of Examiner (BOE) of several technical education institutions.
He is currently pursuing a PhD under the faculty of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering on a multi-disciplinary subject aiming to develop a framework for the implementation of Lean Six Sigma for Software Development.
