As a part of VACT, the Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering in association with IEEE-SJEC Student Chapter organized a One-Week Student Training Programme on Programmable Logic Controllers & SCADA for the Final Year EEE students from 14th August to 19th August 2017 in Electrical Seminar Hall. Mr Himanshu Kumar & Mr Amith Kumar Singh of Indwell Institute of Technology, Pune were the resource persons. The objective of the training programme was to create awareness on the practical aspects of PLC & SCADA in industrial automation and also to enhance the knowledge and skills of the students in the PLC domain. The training sessions focused mainly on providing theoretical knowledge and hands-on training on the PLC software. Every theory session was followed by a related hands-on session. Students had an opportunity to use Mitsubishi & Siemens PLC hardware during the practical sessions. Mini projects were demonstrated to the students and few modifications to these projects were done by the students during the hands-on sessions. The students were also given an overview of the development of SCADA & HMI for control applications. The theory & practical session were appreciated by the students.
