Industrial visit to Leksa Lighting Pvt. Ltd Mijar.

An industrial visit to Leksa Lighting Pvt. Ltd Mijar was organized by EELs association in collaboration with Industry and Innovation group to IV semester students of EEE department on 21 April 2025. Total of 58 students participated. This visit aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to the manufacturing and technological processes involved in modern lighting systems. The initiative was coordinated by Mr. Franco Aldrin Menezes and Mr. Joysun Dsouza. The key activities and highlights of the visit are as follows:

     Welcome Presentation and Light Show:

The visit began with a company presentation followed by a captivating light show that showcased the wide range of lighting fixtures developed by Leksa Lighting.

     Metal Fabrication Tour:

Students were introduced to the basic metal fabrication processes involved in creating light fixtures, including cutting, bending, and shaping of metal sheets for bodies and mounts — even components used for roof lighting systems.

     Powder Coating Section:

An explanation and live demonstration of the metal powder coating process used for finishing light bodies, emphasizing durability and aesthetics.

     IP Testing and Quality Checks:

     A session was conducted on IP (Ingress Protection) testing, where students saw how lighting products are tested for water and dust resistance, vital for outdoor and industrial use.

     LED and PCB Assembly:

Detailed walkthrough of the LED fixing process onto PCBs, with explanations on how LEDs are soldered and aligned for performance and consistency.

     Thermal Management Techniques:

The engineering team explained both passive and active cooling mechanisms used in high-performance lighting to manage heat and enhance lifespan.

 The industrial visit to Leksa Lighting Technologies Pvt. Ltd. was an enlightening and educational experience. It provided a well-rounded view of lighting technology and manufacturing, combining theory with live demonstrations.
