The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering, St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, organized an Awareness Workshop on “Maintenance Monitoring System – Spandana 2026” on 05 February 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Spoorthi Conference Hall. The programme was conducted for all Technical Staff, Maintenance Staff, and Supporting Technical Personnel with the objective of strengthening maintenance documentation and monitoring practices within the institution. The session was led by Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC; Dr Pavana Kumara B, Head–IQAC, SJEC; and Mr Joel Dmello, Maintenance Supervisor, SJEC. Dr Ravikantha Prabhu, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was also present during the programme.
The resource persons highlighted the importance of systematic maintenance records, explained various maintenance-related formats and registers, and clarified the linkage between corrective, preventive, and planned maintenance activities. The workshop focused on improving audit readiness, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and minimizing recurring maintenance issues through effective documentation. The session was interactive, allowing participants to clarify doubts and gain practical insights into accurate record-keeping and reporting procedures. The programme concluded with appreciation for the active participation of the staff and the collective commitment towards strengthening the institution’s maintenance monitoring system.
