On 13th August 2025, St. Joseph Engineering College had the privilege of hosting an insightful session titled “Higher Studies in Public Universities and Research Opportunities in Germany”, organized in association with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The talk was conducted for final year, 7th semester students from all branches, aimed at providing clear guidance to students aspiring to pursue higher education abroad.

The session addressed the prevalent confusion and misinformation surrounding study opportunities in Germany, helping students make informed decisions about their academic and professional future. Ms. Suganya Tamalapadi, Regional Officer for Karnataka and Kerala at DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst – German Academic Exchange Service), Bengaluru Office, was the esteemed resource person for the talk. With her extensive experience working at the DAAD Centre in Germany and her service as an Indian ambassador, Ms. Tamalapadi shared valuable insights on German universities, research opportunities, and scholarship options available for Indian students.

During the session, students actively engaged in discussions and clarified their queries regarding admission procedures, research programs, and funding opportunities in Germany. The talk provided a comprehensive understanding of pursuing higher studies in public universities in Germany and the potential pathways for research and academic growth.

On behalf of St. Joseph Engineering College, we extend our sincere gratitude to Ms. Suganya Tamalapadi for sharing her expertise and guiding our students toward informed academic decisions. As a token of appreciation, the college presented a memento to Ms. Tamalapadi. The session was well-received, and students expressed that it significantly enhanced their clarity regarding higher education prospects abroad.
