  • Talk on BOLPU initiative by MP Captain Brijesh Chowta's team

Dakshina Kannada MP Capt. Brijesh Chowta's team launched the Bolpu initiative—meaning light or dawn—at St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, during an interactive session with third-year BE students on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Shreyas explained that Bolpu aims to identify and nurture at least 10 successful entrepreneurial ventures every year, with a goal of creating 50 success stories over the next five years. The initiative intends not only to discover new ideas but also to provide policy, legal, regulatory, financial, and banking support to deserving ventures, linking them with relevant government programs.

Mr. Karthik emphasized that Bolpu would evolve into a community-driven movement, encouraging every resident of Dakshina Kannada to play a role in supporting entrepreneurship. He urged students to look beyond seeking employment and instead build innovative enterprises that could make the region the “Start-up Capital” of the state.

Mr Karthik concluded by motivating the students to embrace the “Back to Ooru” vision — to return to their roots, create opportunities locally, and build the region’s own “Infosys or TCS.”
