The Office of Collaborations, SJEC is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, and the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Cambodia, on 20 June 2024. This collaboration aims to offer opportunities for students and faculty and facilitate knowledge exchange programs between Cambodia and India. It will foster innovation, enhance academic excellence, and strengthen our educational ties.
This MoU was made possible through the invaluable support of H.E. Samheng Boros, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister of Cambodia and Honorary President of The Better Cambodia, whose efforts were instrumental in establishing the connection between The Better Cambodia and India.
The MoU was signed by Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, Director of SJEC, and H.E. Professor PO Kimtho, General Director of ITC. Witnesses included Prof. Lay Heng, Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, and Mr. SOK Kimheng, Lecturer in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering from ITC, as well as Dr Rio D'Souza, Principal, Dr Harivinod, Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department, and Ms. Diana Monteiro, Collaborations Officer from SJEC. From The Better Cambodia, Mr. Surya Narayan, Founder, and Mr. Walter Dantis, Advisor, also witnessed the event.
During the signing, both parties discussed future collaborations, and emphasized that this MoU will lay the groundwork mutually beneficial partnership, aiming to achieve significant advancements in technology, especially in fields like Computer Science Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and Data Science.
Ms. Diana Monteiro shared the journey between SJEC and The Better Cambodia Connect, extending special thanks to Mr Surya Narayan, and Mr Walter Dantis for their support and contributions to this initiative.
With this MoU, SJEC is looking to enhance collaborative opportunities, drive innovative research, and foster academic exchanges between our institutions.
