ISTE SJEC Chapter in association with Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, ISTE-ECE-Chapter, organized a Technical Talk on “Significance of Domain Knowledge in Software Development” for the Final Year UG and I st & II nd Year PG students of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 05 th November 2014 at Fr. Fred Memorial Hall from 11.30AM to 1.00PM.

The program was started by welcoming the Speaker Mr.Pradeep Kumar, Ex Team Lead , Wipro Technologies, Bangalore , Prof BV Nityananda, HOD ECE Dept, Mr. Gandhimathinathan.A,  & Mrs. Padmini Bhat ISTE-ECE Coordinator’s, Staff members from ECE department,  UG and PG students of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Mr. Talan D’Souza, Student Counselor, ISTE-ECE Chapter introduced Mr. Pradeep Kumar to the gathering.

Mr. Pradeep Kumar started delivering a talk on the topic “ Significance of domain Knowledge in Software Development ”. He elaborated about System Telecom Software, its development in multiple operating systems in the field of Telecommunication Engineering. During his speech, he highlighted the process of software development in particularly about Project Organizational Structures, Project Roles and Responsibilities, Coding Standards, Feasibility in Estimating the Process, Documentation and Staffing Plan. A crowd of 140 students took part in this session. The talk ended with Q & A session.

Prof .Veena Devi VS presented a memento and a certificate of appreciation to the speaker at the end. ISTE Department Co Ordinator’s Mr. Gandhimathinathan.A, Assistant Professor, Ms Padmini Bhat, Assistant Professor, Ms Shama BN, Assistant Professor, Ms. Jennifer Saldhana, Assistant Professor, Ms Jayalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Ms Veena Devi V S, Associate Professor and Dr. Roshan J Martis, Professor, ECE Department were present during the talk. Mr. Talan D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. The program ends with thanking all the members present for the technical session.
