Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in association with ISTE SJEC student chapter organised three days’ workshop for second year and third year students on "Nuvoton Board Development" from 13-15 January 2020.

The Resource Persons for the workshop were Mr Vageesh S, Mr Prathwi Raj Jain and Mr Sachin M C from Brevera Technology Mangaluru and Mr Mahesha Y Assistant Professor, ECE Dept, SJEC.

The Objective of the Workshop was to construct a Nuvoton Microcontroller based General-purpose development board (similar to Arduino Uno) with provision for General-purpose I/O ports along with Motor control and home automation units.

Outcomes of the Workshop were:

Designing a power supply unit with a given specifications.

Designing a Nuvoton based Microcontroller Development Board.

Designing PCB from a given schematic.

Programming a Microcontroller using Embedded C.

Programming Nuvoton board using Keil Software.

Acquiring basic skills such as PCB etching and soldering.

Ms Priya Miranda was the Convener of this workshop. Total of 20 students participated in the workshop.

The moing session on day 1 was on Linear Power Supply Design, which was conducted by Mr Vageesh S and Mr Prathwi Raj Jain. The afteoon was a hands-on session on PCB Design using Fritzing.

The moing session on day 2 was on Application Circuit Design on Nuvoton board, which was then followed by afteoon session on manufacturing the board that is soldering the components on the PCB.

The session on day 3 was on coding example programs for Nuvoton Board using Arm Keil Software. The Resource persons for this session was Mr Prathwi Raj Jain and Mr Sachin M C.  Mr Mahesha Y concluded the Workshop with Vote of Thanks.
