Eco-Club, NSS and YRC organized the celebration of "World Environment day”. A formal function was arranged at 11 am. Dr H Lakshmikantha Regional officer, Kaataka State Pollution Control Board, Udupi was the chief guest for the program. The Director and the principal addressed the students and highlighted the need for environmental protection. The measures taken by the management to ensure a green campus were put forth. Faculty members Mr Ajithanjaya Kumar M.K, Ms Reena Rodrigues and Mr Vinoothan Kaliveer coordinated the program. Around 150 students were present for the program. The key points of the talk by Dr H Lakshmikantha were the importance of topsoil and the role of w ater in the whole ecological system. He emphasized the need to reduce the use of chemically active waste. Consumption of food should be related to the intensity of the work done was one thing that was interesting to the students. The talk promoted the recycling of wast e. At last, a few tips which can be practiced in daily life were shared to save Mother Nature.
