ECE: ARDUINO WORKSHOP

Arduino workshop was conducted in the Department of Electronics and Communication on 25 th March 2017 (Saturday) . Workshop on Arduino Basic-V1 was conducted by Ms. Lavanya B L, Assistant Professor, E&C Department under Prodigi and Pioneer student association.

This workshop provides a platform for students to understand fundamentals of Arduino and to understand the basic procedures for working with Arduino board. The Arduino is a cheap, flexible, open source microcontroller platform designed to make it easy for hobbyists to use electronics in homemade projects. It runs on Mac, Windows, and Linux. The Arduino Uno is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega328 (datasheet). It has 14 digital input/output pins (of which 6 can be used as PWM outputs), 6 analog inputs, a 16 MHz ceramic resonator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button.

The duration of this workshop will be one and half days (or 3 afteoon session) with three and a half hours session on each half day, in a total of ten and a half hours divided into theory and hands on sessions. At the end of this workshop a competition (exhibition of their own project) will be organized among the participating students and each participating student will get certificate of participation.

Total registration for the workshop is 123 students out of which 69 second year students, 51 third year students and 3 final year students. The first 38 registered students workshop was conducted on 25 th March 2017 (Saturday) from 1.30 P.M. to 5.00 P.M. in LD lab Room No (1210 A) and AE Lab Room No  (1210 C ) with the help of 4 student volunteers, Mr. Vijay Ganesh P, Pioneer co-ordinator and Mr.  Prasad S M, Prodigi co-ordinator.

Contents covered in the workshop: Introduction to Arduino and its Features, Installing the Software Arduino IDE, Basic of arduino coding, programing the Serial Monitor, Different LED programs (ON the LED, Blink the LED, Pushbutton to on and off the LED, Traffic Light, RGB LED, User input to on and off LED-Serial Monitor, Bluetooth controlled LED), Relay to on off the Bulb using bluetooth and Servo Motor Control.
