The Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Department formally inaugurated the Departmental Student Association – PRODIGI at 11:30 am in the Kalam Auditorium in Academic Block II, on 25 September 2018.

The President on the occasion was Director, Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza. Mr Madan B, Director, KarMic Design Pvt. Ltd. was the Chief Guest. Mr Keerthan Prabhu, Founder, College Innovators, NMAMIT, Nitte, our Principal, Dr Rio D’Souza and Assistant Director, Rev Fr Rohith D’Costa were the Guests of Honor.

Mr Ashish Kini, President, PRODIGI, read a report of Association activities held in the academic year 2017-18.

The dignitaries were welcomed by Ms Nisarga P N, after which Mr Ananth Kamath, Vice President, PRODIGI, briefed the activities proposed for the academic year 2018-19.

The inauguration ceremony was innovative with the dignitaries using a robot “Curio 3.0” designed by final year students of EC to launch PRODIGI’s yearly magazine “PRODIGI EXPRESS”.

Dr Rio D’souza, Principal, SJEC requested the students to adopt the changes in their life and to be aware, alert to the mode technological changes. He also encouraged students to be innovative and help in building a better society.

Certificates of Excellence, for the top 5 rank students in the previous Semester, were presented by the Dignitaries. The Director, Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza appreciated the final year students for their effort to build the robot and motivated the students to come with a new problem and to find a solution and become  useful mankind for  society.

Ms Rhea Gillette Lewis, Secretary, PRODIGI, proposed the Vote of Thanks. Ms Shravya K compered the inaugural ceremony.

Followed by the formal inaugural function, was a talk on ‘Involve - The DNA of Leadership’ by Mr Keerthan Prabhu who gave tips on how one can build confidence and improve the leadership quality within oneself.  He also asked students to think differently and solve problems in a unique way.

The talk was followed by an informal programme for  the students and faculty of Electronics and Communication.

The students of third and fourth year EC welcomed the second year students by conducting various fun activities.  The programme ended at 5 pm.
