Two new research laboratories, Tessolve Semiconductor, and Bio-Medical Electronics Research Laboratories were inaugurated in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering on 14 th September 2019. Mr. Mahesh Bhatkal, Technical Director, Applied Digital Microsystems, was the Chief Guest of the function.  Tessolve Semiconductor Laboratory is set up to train students as test Engineers in the field of Semiconductor IC Testing.   Mr. Rohan Pinto and Mr. Vijay Ganesh PC have undergone training at Tessolve Semiconductor Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru to train students.  Bio-Medical Research Laboratory is set up with an objective to help faculty and students to carry out their projects and research in the field of Biomedical Engineering.

Dr. Rio D’Souza, Principal, SJEC in his address informed that it was a historical event in SJEC. He congratulated HOD and Staff of ECE and advised to make the best use of the facilities. He informed that an MoU is signed with Fr. Mullers Medical College and Hospital for the benefit of staff and students.  Rev.  Fr. Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director, SJEC in his presidential address said that the management is happy that the Department has utilized the seed money for setting up Bio-Medical Electronics Research Lab and encouraged the faculty to come up with more such Labs and wished them a great success. Mr. Mahesh Bhatkal, Technical Director, ADM, Mumbai spoke about how Industries are collaborating with the Institutions to make graduates ready to join the Industry. In addition, he said that test Engineers are one among the highly paid Engineers across the Globe. He appreciated the Management’s involvement in setting up Tessolve Semiconductor Lab. In the beginning, Dr. Dayakshini, HOD, ECE briefed about the importance and uses of both Tessolve and Bio-Medical Electronics Research Labs.  Mr. Rohan Pinto proposed the vote of thanks and Ms. Sadhika Shetty compered the event.
