PRODIGI-ECE students' association organized an Online webinar on "Career Options and Opportunities for Electronics Graduates" for ECE students on Webex video conferencing platform on Saturday 15th May 2021.
Dr Dayakshini, Professor & HOD-ECE Dept was the Moderator of the event and Ms Reshma K J, Asst Professor, ECE Dept was the Event Co-coordinator.
The Resource Person of the webinar was Mr. Renjith C V, Product Designer, Philips India Ltd., started his session with Career Planning and Higher Education in India and Abroad. He also described the detailed information on Product Development Flow in Industry starting from product initiation to prototyping. The Resource Person enlightened the students on types of jobs available in Industry, Technical and Behavioral skills required by the Industry. He also stressed the significance of Research and Development Jobs over Software and Hardware Engineering Jobs. Typical skill sets for Embedded System Engineer, Signal and Image Processing Engineer, Microcontroller, IoT, Deep Leaing and FPGA Design Tools were also provided in the session.
He also said that students should strengthen their fundamentals of Electronics to get placed in various Core Electronics Industries. He concluded his session by highlighting specialized courses to enhance career prospects for Electronics Engineer. He provided list of courses and training centers that ECE students can take up to enhance their knowledge in the emerging fields of Electronics.
The webinar was attended by students and faculty members. The session was very interactive with many queries from students. The session ended with vote of thanks delivered by Ms Vijayalaxmi H M, PRODIGI Coordinator.
