ECE Department organized a talk on " IPR and Technology Transfer" to the St Joseph Engineering College Staff at Prerana Hall on 5/1/2021 at 11.00 am. This event was focused on providing insights on Intellectual Property Rights, rules, and procedures involved in applying for patent. The seminar started at 11.00 am sharp by Dr. Mamatha Girish welcoming the gathering and introducing the resource person to the audience.
The resource person Dr Iddya Karunasagar, Advisor (Research and Patents), Nitte University,
spoke about the steps involved in applying patents, terms and conditions, time involved in processing the patent application by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization).
The second resource person of the day Dr. Indrani Karunasagar, Director (Projects and DST-TEC),Nitte (DU) gave valuable suggestion on how to convert a thesis into a publication, importance of impact factor & H index of jouals. She also provided the tips for proposal writing and applying grants for research projects.
The talk was followed by question answer session. The session ended by handing over the memento to the resource persons by Director Rev. Fr. Wilfred Prakash D'Souza. Around 80 staff participated in the session. The feedback link was shared with the participants at the end of the session.
