The Department of Civil Engineering, in association with the SJEC IUCEE Student Chapter, organized a poster presentation competition on the theme Earth Day. The objective of the event was to assess students’ understanding of environmental issues, their ability to communicate ideas visually, and their originality in presentation.
A total of 17 students actively participated in the competition. Each poster was evaluated by the judging panel based on predefined criteria: relevance to theme (10 marks), creativity and originality (10 marks), and visual appeal and presentation (10 marks), with a maximum score of 30 marks.
The evaluation results showed a clear distinction in performance among the participants. Marishka J Crasta secured the first prize, followed by Soumya in second place and S Ananya in third place.
Overall, the posters demonstrated good awareness of sustainability, environmental protection, and responsible engineering practices. The competition successfully met its objectives by encouraging creativity, environmental consciousness, and effective visual communication among students. It also provided a constructive platform for students to present their ideas on Earth Day and promoted healthy academic competition.
