Green Roots 2026: Nurture, Grow and Plant, organized by SJEC ECOVEX & AICUF SJEC Unit under CCG, in association with the Department of Chemistry, commenced with the successful distribution of pot kits on 13 July 2026 at the SJEC ECOVEX Club Room.
The programme was initiated with the objective of promoting environmental awareness, encouraging sustainable practices, and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature through active participation in plant nurturing and conservation.
The pot kits were formally distributed to the participants by the Director and the Chief Administrative Officer of our college, whose presence and encouragement inspired the students to actively participate in the initiative.
A total of 50 students registered for the programme. Each participant received a seed, pot, and soil to begin nurturing a plant at home. The students were instructed to care for the seedlings during July and August 2026 and document their growth through photographs and brief observations.
The pot kit distribution was carried out successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students. The programme marks the beginning of a meaningful environmental initiative that encourages sustainable practices and strengthens students commitment to environmental conservation.
