WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026 ACTIVITIES

On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, SJEC Ecovex, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Chemistry, Culture and Community Group (CCG), successfully organized a series of awareness initiatives aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable living among students and staff.

Environmental Awareness Video:    
A video highlighting sustainable environmental practices and the importance of individual responsibility towards nature was created and circulated among students and staff. The video served as an effective medium to spread awareness on environmental conservation and sustainable habits.

Poster Awareness Campaign:          
An awareness campaign based on the theme “Think Before You Print” was conducted through posters circulated to all departments. The campaign emphasized the importance of reducing paper consumption, encouraging responsible printing practices, and promoting sustainable resource management within the campus community.

Online Webinar:        
On 5th June 2026, an online webinar on the topic “Convenience and Consumerism in the Human World” was organized. The session was delivered by Sqn Ldr Neville Tania D'Costa (Retd.), Founder – Anahata. The webinar focused on the environmental impacts of excessive consumption, the culture of convenience, and the need to adopt sustainable lifestyles. The session witnessed the participation of around 40 students and staff members, who actively engaged in the discussion and gained valuable insights into responsible consumption practices.
