The Chief Guest in her address said that this year our country is celebrating its' 74th Republic Day, with a theme Jan Bhagidari (participation of the common people). Shramjeevis, workers with their families, who helped build the Central Vista, administrative center of our nation, Kartavya Path upkeep staff, and other locals including rickshaw pullers, owners of modest food stores, and vegetable vendors will be seated in the first row of the main dais during the parade. These exceptional invitees will participate in the Republic Day 2023 Parade, which will honor the real essence of a Republic nation. For the first time since Independence, the Border Security Force (BSF) women's unit will be included in the parade. The women's contingent of the BSF will be presented in the Republic Day Parade in 2023 for the first time since Independence, riding camels. A great day for women. Women empowerment is crucial for nation building. She urged the students not to forget about our duties towards our country. Engineering education is the backbone of any developing nation. She made a special mention of two young achievers. first example is our own student Prashanth Parashurama Koti of third year ECE. He was one among the 3 cadets from Kaataka to get selected for RDC 2023 in ship modelling category. He is representing Kaataka and Goa Directorate in Delhi. He has worked very hard from past one and half years in NCC without compromising his academic performance. We are very proud of his achievements. Second example is our young Mangalore girl Lieutenant commander (Lt Cdr) of Indian Navy, Disha Amrith, will lead the naval contingent in the Republic Day parade. Proud Moment for all of us. She stressed on five key points to remember on Republic Day:

1.Reflect on the progress of the nation.

2. Pledge to do your part.

3. The importance of access to quality education.

4. Foster a culture of innovation and creativity.

5. Celebrate the contributions of Engineers.

The address was followed by the vote of thanks and distribution of sweets. The function was compered by Ms Apeksha, III Year Computer Scienece Engineering.
