Republic Day is a day that is imperative to each Indian citizen because it denotes the day when India became democratic and truly independent. The Republic Day of our Nation was celebrated with pomp and show, zeal and spirit in SJEC at 8:30 am in the Basketball Court. Dr Prakash Pinto Dean MBA-SJEC graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Rev. Fr Kenneth Rayner Crasta Director Incharge – SJEC, Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal – SJEC, were the other dignitaries present for the occasion.

The highlight of the day was the presence of SJEC NCC Naval and Air Wing Cadets. The dignitaries were escorted to the flag post by Leading cadet Divija M G, Leading Cadet Glen Elric, LFC  Jayashree C S and Cdt Keerthan Shetty.

As per tradition, the Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag. Parade Commander, Parade Commander, Cadet Captain Aditya C S. of SJEC Naval Wing led the gathering in saluting the National Flag and rendering the National Anthem.

Parade Commander, Cadet Captain Aditya C S of SJEC Naval Wing requested the Chief Guest to carry out the inspection of the SJEC NCC Troops. The Chief Guest and the dignitaries were escorted by the Cadets for the Troop inspection. Then with due permission from the Chief Guest, the troops, with pride and enthusiasm, gave the Guard of Honour led by the parade commanders of SJEC Naval and Air Wing. 

Dr. Prakash Pinto, the chief guest of the Republic Day celebration, delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the significance of the Indian Constitution and the values of democracy, justice, and equality. He highlighted India's remarkable advancements in science, technology, education, and healthcare, stressing the need for continued innovation and development. Addressing the youth, he encouraged them to be responsible citizens, embrace education, and contribute to nation-building with integrity and dedication. He also underscored the importance of unity in diversity, social responsibility, and sustainability for a progressive India. Concluding his speech, Dr. Pinto urged everyone to work collectively toward a future marked by growth, stability, and inclusivity, ensuring that the ideals of the Constitution are upheld for generations to come.

The presence of patriotism was raised by beautiful patriotic songs from Neha and team. The song was followed by a vote of thanks and the distribution of sweets. The function was compered by Deona Rego.
