To be fit and healthy, one needs to be physically active. Regular physical activity can help protect an individual from serious diseases such as obesity, heart disease, cancer, mental illness, diabetes and arthritis. One of the best ways to reduce your risk of health problems associated with a sedentary lifestyle is to ride a bicycle regularly.

Cycling is a healthy, low-impact exercise that can be enjoyed by people of all ages, from young children to older adults. It is also fun, cost effective and good for the environment.

SJEC has taken a step forward to promote this kind of healthy lifestyle by providing cycles to ride on the campus. The inaugural of the cycle for fitness campaign for the staff and students of the college was held on 11 February 2020. The blessing of the Department of Physical Education was also done at the same time.

Rev. Fr Wilfred Prakash D’Souza, Director of SJEC carried the blessing alongside Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director & Dr Rio D’Souza, Principal of SJEC who inaugurated the cycles by cutting the ribbon and riding the cycles.

The staff and students of SJEC are welcome to enjoy bicycle ride every day after the working hours.
