As part of the celebrations for International Yoga Day 2025, the Department of Physical Education, in collaboration with SJEC NCC, organised a rejuvenating and insightful session titled “Yoga Day – 2025” on 19th June 2025 at Bethania Hall. The session, held from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, aimed to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being through the ancient discipline of yoga.

The session was skillfully conducted by Ms. Elvisha Rosewin Lobo, a third-year student of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML), who led the participants through a holistic yoga and meditation experience. Her calm demeanour and deep understanding of the asanas created a serene and focused environment, conducive to mindful participation.

The session commenced with a brief warm-up and stretching exercises, preparing the body for further physical engagement. This was followed by:

One full set of Surya Namaskara (Sun Salutation): A dynamic sequence of postures that energises and aligns the body.

Standing Asanas: These included postures that enhance balance, flexibility, and strength.

Sitting Asanas: Focused on improving spinal flexibility and enhancing focus.

Lying Down Asanas: Designed to relax and rejuvenate the body.

Pranayama: Breathing techniques that aid in calming the nervous system, improving concentration, and promoting emotional stability.

The session concluded with a short guided meditation, allowing participants to experience inner stillness and tranquillity.

Beyond the physical activity, Yoga Day – 2025 served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about the transformative benefits of yoga, inspiring individuals to incorporate this timeless practice into their daily routines for a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

The Department of Physical Education and SJEC NCC expressed their gratitude to all participants and commended Ms. Elvisha Rosewin Lobo for her excellent facilitation of the session.
