TechPrints 7.0, a National Level Technical Paper Presentation Competition organized by the Department of Computer Applications of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, was inaugurated on 4 th April 2019. The event was open for the students of MCA, MTech, MS, MSc (Computer Science) and BE (CS & IS). Papers were called for the topics under the broad categories of Intelligent Information Processing and Networks & Computing.
TechPrints 7.0 was inaugurated with the lighting the lamp by the dignitaries including Mr Praveen Udupa, Founder & Technical Director, A1 Logics, Mangaluru, who was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural Programme. The other dignitaries present on the dais were the President of the Programme, Rev. Fr Rohith D’Costa, Assistant Director of SJEC, Dr Joseph Gonsalvis, Chief of R&D at SJEC, Ms Sumangala N, I/C HOD-MCA and Mr Gururaja S, Convener of TechPrints 7.0
The Chief Guest, Mr Praveen Udupa, addressed the gathering wherein he voiced his opinion on coping up with the growth in technology. He called upon the youngsters to be implementers instead of just being end users. Inaugural programme also saw the release of the proceedings of TechPrints 7.0, by the Chief Guest along with the other dignitaries present during the occasion.
The conclusion of the formal programme was followed by the keynote address on Current Trends in IT by the Chief Guest after which, parallel presentations were held at 2 different venues simultaneously. The presentations under Intelligent Information Processing were judged by Mr Shreenath Acharya, Assistant Professor-CSE and Mr Hareesh B, Assistant Professor-MCA, whereas the presentations under Networks and Computing were judged by Mr Sunil Kamath, Associate Professor, CSE and Ms Sumangala N, I/C HOD-MCA.
