Ashok Kumar, Consulting Engineer, Mangaluru, Er. Kennet D’souza, Consulting Engineer and ACCE(I) Office Bearer, Er. Sathyaranjan Rao, Consulting Engineer and Vice Chairman ACCE(I) Mangaluru Centre, Er. Ashwil, RAMCO Cement Representative and Mr. Vijeth Kumar, President of NIRMAN Association, Department of Civil Engineering, SJEC Mangaluru. The program was attended by the students of 2nd, 3rd and 4th year Civil Engineering and organized by the Faculty Coordinator of NIRMAN, Mr. Chitharanjan M., Dept of Civil Engineering.
Dr. K. S Babunarayan who was the guest of honor was introduced by Mr. Bhaskar, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, SJEC, Mangaluru. Dr. K. S Babunarayan emphasized on the significance of the Innovative World of Civil Engineering. He encouraged the students with his inspirational thoughts. He spoke about various magnificent structures constructed all over the world and how it would’ve been impossible for some of them to remain standing as they presently are. He stressed on how important it is for a civil engineer to be thinking on the broader perspective and be coming up with more innovative ideas and solutions to the ever-rising count of problems in the world.
Er. Ashok Kumar was introduced by Ms. Apoorva K. V., Assistant Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, SJEC, Mangaluru.
Er. Ashok Kumar emphasized on the importance of Construction Safety. He spoke about the causes and precautions to be taken in the construction site. He had several videos of real-life incidents of accidents in field, causing either temporary damage or permanent loss of life. He was very thorough with all the precautions to be taken in the site and stressed about the consequences to follow if certain rules were not followed. At the end, sir had a video to explain one instance of an incident and the various outcomes that one incident could lead to.
