The Department of Civil Engineering conducted the final-year project exhibition and competition under the banner Technova 2025 on 27 November 2025. Ten teams, each comprising three to four students, took part.

The judging panel included one external and two internal evaluators. The external judge was Alan Baptist D’Souza, Civil Engineer and Approved Valuer, AJ Consultants. The internal judges were Yajnheswaran B, Professor and Head of the Department, and ESTR Chandrasekhar Bhojaraju, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, SJEC.

Six teams advanced to the final round of evaluation.

• First prize went to Nikhil, Saish, Preetam and Karthik, guided by Sinchana K, for the project titled “Coupling Bioreactors and Constructed Wetland for Sustainable Wastewater Treatment and Energy Recovery.”

• Second prize was awarded to Harshal, Sagar, Roshan and Pannav, guided by ESTR Chandrasekhar B, for the project “Influence of Processing Temperature of Rice Husk Ash on Ultra-High-Performance Concrete.”

• Third prize was secured by Chirag, Ajit and Tushar, guided by Ajeeth B, for the project “Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Murraya Plant Extract and Its Antimicrobial Activities.”

• The Innovative Project Award was given to Deeksha, Basim and Kiran, guided by ESTR Chandrasekhar B, for the project “Synergetic Effects of Induction Steel Furnace Slag in Alkali-Activated Slag.”

The event concluded with a valedictory function at 1:00 pm. Students from the first, second and third year of Civil Engineering, along with students from other departments, visited the exhibition and interacted with the final-year teams to understand the exhibited work.
