Dynamics and Control of Aircraft and Robotic Systems: From Modelling to Real-time Applications”

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering organized a one-day Student Development Program (SDP) on “Dynamics and Control of Aircraft and Robotic Systems: From Modelling to Real-time Applications” on September 28, 2024. The event, held from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the DSP Lab, provided 5 th -semester ECE students with hands-on experience in MATLAB, enhancing their skills in system modeling, control design, and simulation techniques relevant to robotics and aircraft engineering.
The resource persons, Dr. Spoorthi Singh and Dr. Navya Thirumaleshwar Hegde from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, led the workshop with insightful sessions. Dr. Navya focused on aircraft system modeling and demonstrated drone control and navigation algorithms for UAVs using MATLAB. Dr. Spoorthi highlighted the use of MATLAB’s Simscape tool, showcasing the modeling and control of robotic arm movements. The workshop concluded with an interactive Q&A session, with the participants expressing positive feedback. The program was coordinated by Dr. Aldrin Claytus Vaz, Mr. Glenson Toney,  and Ms. Florence Nishmitha, Assistant Professors from the Department of ECE, with Ms.Florence also serving as the master of ceremonies for the inaugural and valedictory sessions.
