IEEE Outreach Program

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in collaboration with the IEEE SJEC Student Branch and IEEE SJEC GRSS Chapter, organized an IEEE Program on 11th October 2025 to visit SEON Ashram Trust, Belthangady. A total of 20 IEEE student members participated in the program, accompanied by Ms Reshma K J and Ms Madhavi Gatty, Assistant Professors from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The SEON Ashram Trust serves as a residential and rehabilitative center for individuals from various vulnerable sections of society, including the mentally ill, intellectually challenged, physically handicapped, elderly, and orphaned children. The objectives of the program were

     To encourage students to develop compassion and a sense of responsibility towards vulnerable groups

     To foster a culture of giving back to society through acts of kindness and support.

The visit included a series of interactive activities aimed at engaging the residents and spreading joy. The students began with action songs that encouraged participation and created a cheerful atmosphere among the residents. This was followed by group songs, where melodious performances were presented to entertain the elderly and other residents, fostering a sense of warmth, connection, and togetherness. TTo conclude the program, the students contributed essential items to the Ashram as a gesture of care and support, symbolizing compassion.

The IEEE Program at SEON Ashram Trust was a memorable and enriching experience for all participants. It not only brought moments of joy to the residents but also inspired students to contribute positively to society. The program was coordinated by Ms Reshma K J, Mr Prasad S M,     Ms Madhavi Gatty, and Ms K Aarya Shri, Assistant Professors of the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
