The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) conducted a  3-day bridge course titled "ElectroLink - Path to Proficiency" from November 27 to 29, 2023. The course aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of second-year ECE students. The program included theoretical sessions and hands-on training on various topics relevant to the ECE curriculum.

The primary objectives of the course were to:

  • To develop a foundational understanding of the key concepts and principles in network theory.
  • To acquire knowledge of various electronic components, their characteristics, and applications.

Day 1

The day commenced with an address by Dr. Dayakshini, Head of the Department - ECE. Subsequently, Session 1 on the Basics of Network Theory took place from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM. This session, led by resource persons Dr. Roshan R Naik, Ms. Vijayalaxmi H M, and Mr. Radhakrishna, covered topics such as net resistance, capacitance, and inductance measurements, as well as KCL and KVL for simple DC circuits. The afteoon session from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM involved hands-on training in AC, NT, and DD Labs.

Day 2

The second day featured Session 2 on the Basics of Analog Circuits from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Led by Mr. Prasad S M, Mr. Aldrin C Vaz, and Ms. Vinitha Pasanha, this session explored the construction of MOSFETs, introduction to Operational Amplifiers, IC-741, characteristics of Ideal Opamps, various applications, and an introduction to IC-555 Timer. Following this, the afteoon continued with hands-on training in AC, NT, and DD Labs.

Day 3

The final day included Session 3 on the Basics of Digital Design from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Resource persons Ms. Reshma K J, Ms. Deepthi S R, and Ms. K Aarya Shri delved into topics such as binary representation, Boolean Algebra, Logic Gates, simplification techniques, and the designing of combinational and sequential logic circuits. The day they concluded with a hands-on session involving the implementation of logic gates, verification of De Morgan's theorems, and the implementation of SOP/POS expressions. Subsequently, the afteoon proceeded with practical, hands-on training sessions conducted in the AC, NT, and DD Labs.

The course successfully covered a range of topics, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for their academic and professional development in electronics and communication engineering. Ms Deepthi S R & Ms K Aarya Shri coordinated this bridge course.
